Shimla: In a mid-year administrative reshuffle, the Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday transferred five senior officers, including an IAS officer, and appointed six newly inducted Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officers as Block Development Officers (BDOs). The decision was formalized through a notification issued by the Department of Personnel.

Key IAS and HAS Officer Transfers

2020 batch IAS officer Gursimar Singh, previously posted as SDM Jawali, has now been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Mandi.

HAS officer Aparajita Chandel, who was serving as Assistant Commissioner to DC Hamirpur, has been promoted and transferred as SDM Salooni, District Chamba.

Rohit Rathore, formerly ADC Mandi, has now been posted as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Mandi.

The government has also withdrawn additional responsibilities previously assigned to these officers, signaling a focus on streamlined duties.

Other Transfers Among HAS Officers

Laxman Singh, SDM Gohar, has been transferred as SDM Ani.

Narendra Singh, serving with the RTO Flying Squad in Kangra, has been appointed as SDM Jawali.

These changes are part of the state government’s effort to reposition officers in key administrative and field-level posts for better governance and public service delivery.

Six Newly Inducted HAS Officers Appointed as BDOs

In a long-awaited move, six newly appointed HAS officers, who were awaiting their first field postings, have been assigned roles as Block Development Officers in various districts:

Himani – BDO Chauhan, District Shimla

Anubhav Tanwar – BDO Chamba

Kartikey Dogra – BDO Nankhari

Karanvir Singh – BDO Kupvi

Neha Negi – BDO Sangdah

Yogesh Kumar – BDO Pangi

Their appointments mark the beginning of active service for the newest batch of HAS officers in rural and semi-urban development roles.

Additional Charge Assigned to Rajiv Thakur

In a parallel development, Rajiv Thakur, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the State Selection Commission, Hamirpur, has been given additional responsibilities as:

  • Assistant Commissioner to DC Hamirpur
  • Tehsildar Gohar
  • SDM Gohar

This multi-role assignment is indicative of the administrative demand in key field locations.
