Goa: In a major boost to India’s clean energy ambitions, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Thermax have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 in Goa to jointly develop and commercialise next-generation low-carbon and clean energy technologies.
The collaboration is aimed at supporting India’s energy transition while advancing indigenous technology development under the Make in India initiative.
Focus on Electrolysers, Carbon Capture and Bio-Energy
Under the MoU, HPCL and Thermax will work together on a range of emerging clean energy solutions, including:
- HP AEM electrolysers for green hydrogen production
- Carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture technologies to reduce industrial emissions
- Bio-pyrolysis oil processing as a sustainable bio-energy solution
These technologies are expected to play a crucial role in decarbonising industrial operations and strengthening India’s low-carbon energy ecosystem.
