Mr. Ashwani Kumar, a 2010-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed as the Director of the Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication (DITEC) in Assam. In this pivotal role, he will oversee the development of critical IT infrastructure such as the State Wide Area Network (SWAN), State Data Centre (SDC), and Common Services Centre (CSC), while driving initiatives to attract investments in Assam’s IT sector.
With a strong background in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, Mr. Kumar will focus on advancing e-governance projects, implementing the state’s IT Policy, and enhancing cybersecurity measures. His appointment is expected to play a key role in modernizing Assam’s IT infrastructure and promoting digital transformation across the state.
