Mr. B.V.R.C Purushottam, a 2004-batch IAS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, has formally applied for Voluntary Retirement (VRS).

Mr. Purushottam is presently serving as a secretary-level officer in the Uttarakhand Government and is currently handling key responsibilities as Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, in addition to serving as Chief Executive Officer of the State Election Commission.
Sources close to Mr. Purushottam revealed that his decision to seek voluntary retirement is primarily driven by personal reasons, including a desire to return to his native state and look after his elderly parents. Speaking to Doon Mirror, Mr. Purushottam confirmed that he has submitted his VRS application.
As of now, the VRS application is under process in the Uttarakhand Personnel Department. Once vetted at the state level, it will be forwarded to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) at the Centre for final approval. According to administrative experts, the entire process may take around one to two months for completion.
Mr. Purushottam has been widely acknowledged for his efficient handling of his departmental responsibilities and is regarded as a capable officer within administrative circles.
