Amidst recent developments, senior bureaucrat, Mr. K K Pathak (1990 batch IAS), is expected to be granted permission to go on central deputation. Mr. Pathak, the incumbent Additional Cheif Secretary of the Education Department in Bihar, had made headlines of many regional newspapers because of his uncompromising persona and for taking tough measures like enforcing strict school timings which became the bone of contention between him and the then Education Minister, Dr. Chandrashekhar. However, with the news of his potential central deputation, controversies around this senior bureaucrat are expected to meet an end.
During his previous stint in the union government, Mr. Pathak served as the Additional Secretary and Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) until 2021. With four more years until his superannuation, Mr. Pathak’s next leg with the bureaucracy shall begin once he receives an NoC (No Objection Certificate) from the government of Bihar to kickstart the proceedings for his central deputation.
