Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, Ms. Radha Raturi, has been given six month extension. Her extension has been approved by the Department of Personnel, Government of India, on the request of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami.

Ms. Raturi, who is an IAS officer of 1988 batch, is the first woman chief secretary of the state. Now her tenure will end in September. She replaced Dr. SS Sandhu as the top bureaucrat of the state.

Ms. Radha Raturi had earlier served as Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Secretariat Administration, Uttarakhand. She is one of the few people who could crack UPSC CSE in all their attempts. Before joining IAS, she got selected for IPS and Indian Information Service. Having a background in journalism, Ms. Raturi came into civil services to make a difference, and she had put in her best efforts to succeed in her aim in every posting. She served in Uttar Pradesh and then came to Uttarakhand after the division. She has served in various crucial positions, including Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand for 10 years.
