IAS officer Mahendra Kumar, who is currently on compulsory wait in the Department of Commerce, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the NITI Aayog.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (08.08.2024), the central government approved the appointment of Mr. Kumar to the post for a tenure of up to 18.06.2027 with effect from the date of assuming the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
