Mr. Armstrong Pame (2009-batch Manipur cadre IAS officer) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education on Central Deputation basis. His appointment is at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix for a tenure of five years, up to April 17, 2027.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Pame was serving as Director – School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, where he played a crucial role in strengthening foundational education systems and promoting literacy initiatives across India.
His previous roles in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting include:
- Director – Focused on public communication and national media policies.
- Deputy Secretary – Provided strategic leadership in public administration and media outreach programs.
With his vast experience in education policy, governance, and rural development, Mr. Pame’s appointment is expected to drive key reforms and advancements in higher education policies at the national level.
