Kranthi Kumar Pati, a 2015 Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, took charge as the District Collector of Coimbatore on Sunday.
Before taking over as Coimbatore Collector, Mr. Pati, a chartered accountant and native of Maharashtra, served as Commissioner of the Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation.
In addition, he held positions as Assistant Secretary in the Department of Posts and Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax and GST in Erode. He was also the Executive Officer of the Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani.
After taking office, he told reporters that his focus would be on making various government initiatives known to the general public in accordance with orders from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Additionally, he promised to ensure interdepartmental coordination to quickly address public complaints.
G.S. Sameeran, the departing collector, was moved and appointed Joint Commissioner (Works) of the Greater Chennai Corporation. Senior government officials and Mr. Sameeran were present at the Collectorate as the new Collector assumed leadership. Corporation Commissioner M. Prathap was also there.
