A video of a DM's child playing in an Anganwadi is viral and netizens are praising the officer's decision
Indian Masterminds Stories

A leader should always lead by example. 2014 batch IAS officer Archana Verma, who is DM of Hathras district, UP, is doing just that. She admitted her child in an Anganwadi, where he is learning through play.

The video of her child playing in an Anganwadi went viral and now netizens are praising Ms. Verma for her decision. The officer has set an example for those who hesitate to send their children to Anganwadi centers or even government schools, by enrolling her 2 years and 3 months old son Abhijeet in the Anganwadi center of village Darshana.

This step of the DM is appreciable as people are of the view that if the children of officers start studying in government schools, then the face of these schools will change very soon.

The government always promotes Anganwadis and governments schools for education, especially in rural areas. Now as the DM did not send her son to any expensive private play school, but got him admitted in the Anganwadi center, this has created a huge impact on the minds of all parents.

Due to the DM’s child admission, the admission of children in that Anganwadi is increasing.

After getting admission that the DM’s son spends several hours every day with the other children in the Anganwadi center, more and more people of the area have started sending their children to Anganwadi centres.

Ms Verma originally belongs to Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. She is the proud mother of two children. She came to limelight when she kept working in the field even during advanced stage of pregnancy.
