Hyderabad: In recognition of its impactful healthcare initiatives, REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has been conferred with the ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Award 2024 in the category of ‘Excellence in Providing Support to Healthcare.’

National Recognition for Healthcare Commitment
The award was presented during the 6th ASSOCHAM CSR and Sustainability Conference & Awards held in Hyderabad. Shri Anjan Lahiri, Senior General Manager and Head of Department at REC Foundation, received the award on behalf of REC from the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

This recognition reinforces REC’s dedication to transforming India’s healthcare landscape through its well-structured and responsive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, executed via its CSR arm, the REC Foundation.

Sustained Excellence in CSR Impact
This is not the first time REC has earned national accolades for its CSR initiatives. In 2023, the company was similarly recognized by ASSOCHAM for its exemplary CSR interventions in Aspirational Districts, particularly for programs benefiting Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).

Further, as per the Public Enterprise Survey Report 2023–24 published by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), REC has been ranked 4th among all CPSUs in India for its CSR contributions, highlighting its growing influence in the social impact ecosystem.

Driving Inclusive Growth Across India
REC’s CSR philosophy is rooted in the principle of inclusive and sustainable development. The organization continues to invest in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, skill development, and rural infrastructure—empowering communities nationwide. The award reaffirms REC’s role as a model corporate citizen, advancing India’s development goals through strategic interventions.
