Senior IAS officer Sanjay Malhotra, currently posted as the Secretary in the Department of Revenue has been given additional charge of Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the competent authority has approved the assignment of the additional charge of the post to Mr. Malhotra from 18.05.2023 to 28.05.2023 during the period of absence on leave of Vivek Joshi (IAS:1989:HY).
Mr Malhotra is a 1990 batch officer from the Rajasthan cadre. He is an IIT-Kanpur alumnus and has a Masters degree in public policy from the Princeton University.
He had taken over as the top bureaucrat in the Revenue Department when the government was preparing for the Union Budget 2023-24.
He earlier served as the chairman and MD of the government-owned corporation REC Limited.
