Former Secretary of Water Resources and Textiles under the Government of India, Mr. UP Singh, has been named as the chairman of the newly constituted National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) formed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday.
He is a retired 1985 batch officer from the Odisha cadre.
Members of the NTSB will have experience in many facets of road safety. It will develop precise guidelines for road safety, traffic management, and skill development for traffic officers and highway officials. It will provide road safety and traffic management advice to the central and state governments.
