Ahead of the General Assembly Elections 2024, the government of Maharashtra appointed senior IAS officer Mr. S Chockalingam (1996 batch) as the state’s new chief electoral officer (CEO), succeeding IAS officer S M Deshpande.
As the CEO, Mr. Chockalingam shall undertake the responsibility of supervising work related to Assembly/Parliament elections in Maharashtra under the overall superintendence, direction and control of the ECI. Officer Chockalingam had served as the Director General (DG) of Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration in Pune.
