Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Charan Majhi led Odisha Government has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle, appointing new officers to key positions and placing several 2023-batch IAS officers as Sub-Collectors across the state. The reshuffle, ordered by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, aims to strengthen governance and optimize service delivery at various administrative levels.
Senior IAS Officers Reassigned to Key Departments
Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, IAS (RR-2005)
- Appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Co-operation Department.
- Will continue to hold additional charges as: – Special Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Chairman, Odisha State Warehousing Corporation
Dr. Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, IAS (RR-2009)
- Continues as Director, Odia Language, Literature & Culture
- Now also appointed as Secretary, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department
Samarth Verma, IAS (RR-2011)
- Appointed as Director, Minor Minerals, Bhubaneswar
- The post has been upgraded to the level of Additional Secretary
Deepankar Mohapatra, IAS (NSCS-2014)
- Appointed as CEO, Hockey Promotion Council, Odisha
- The post is declared equivalent to Joint Secretary
Nine 2023-Batch IAS Officers Posted as Sub-Collectors
The state has also appointed newly inducted RR-2023 batch IAS officers as Sub-Collectors, confirming them as Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) under Section 14(4) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. These appointments are aimed at energizing field administration across Odisha’s districts.
