At the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), the National Council for Transgender Persons (NCTP) held its crucial meeting, which was inaugurated by Mr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The main goal of the meeting was to address the difficulties that transgender people encounter. These difficulties included matters related to education, living a dignified life, health support, employment opportunities, skill development, restrooms, the creation of shelters, the distribution of Ayushman Cards, and the availability of Garima Greh. They also discussed about the transgender portal, envisioned centralized platform to access the resources and support services
The Ministry emphasised the value of continued cooperation and communication while restating its commitment to guaranteeing the transgender community’s equitable inclusion and empowerment. Senior authorities from several Ministries, Departments and States actively participated in the meeting. Their opinions and thoughts enhanced the conversation on issues of utmost significance and made clear how urgent it is to address the systemic problems.
