A day after Mr. Bhorkode Hemant Sahadeorao (2018-batch IAS officer), the Zonal Commissioner (Khairatabad Zone) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, authorised the demolition of two temporary sheds built on the pavement outside the Jubilee Hills residence of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Revanth Reddy government transferred him and asked him to report to the general administration department.
The two sheds outside the Lotus Pond residence were being used by the former Andhra CM’s security teams but had become an obstruction on the narrow road, a hassle for the commuters. Officer Bhorkode deduced that since Mr. Reddy was no longer the CM, there was no longer a need for many security personnel to be stationed outside his residence, and the sheds were pulled down.
Officials clarified that had the higher authorities kept in touch, they would have informed the CMO and sought permission before going ahead with the demolition outside a former CM’s house.
