Six Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationers from the 2025 batch have been assigned to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre, officials confirmed on Saturday. Their postings form part of the routine cadre training process for newly recruited officers.
The officers posted to the Union Territory are Alfred Thomas, Ruchika Jha, Nidhi, Mohd Haris Mir, Shagun Singh, and Jitendra Kumar.
One Officer from Jammu and Kashmir
Among the six officers, Mohd Haris Mir is the only probationer who hails from Jammu and Kashmir. The other officers have been allotted the Union Territory for their probationary training as part of the AGMUT cadre structure, which serves several Union Territories and smaller states.
Strengthening the Administrative Framework
The arrival of these young officers is expected to add fresh energy to the administrative machinery in Jammu and Kashmir. During their probationary period, they will work under senior officials, gaining practical experience in governance, public administration, and development programs before taking on independent responsibilities in the future.
