The Assam government has appointed 1993 batch IAS officer Ravi Kota of Assam cadre as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Home & Political Department, which encompasses Passport and Prisons, as well as the Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department. This marks his initial posting following his return from a central deputation.
