1990 batch IAS officer SKG Rahate of Jharkhand cadre, who is presently holding the position of Secretary at the Department of Justice, has been given an additional role as the Secretary of the Legislative Department.
This development was enacted through an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 30, 2023. The competent authority has granted approval for Mr. Rahate to assume this additional responsibility starting from October 1, 2023, following the conclusion of Dr. Reeta Vaishta’s term. This arrangement will continue until a permanent replacement is appointed for the position or until further instructions are issued, whichever comes first.
