Senior IAS officer Subhas Chandra Lal Das has joined the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as its new Secretary. He is a 1992-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre. An M.Phil in Public Management and B.Sc. in Statistics, Mr. Das has replaced Mr BB Swain, who was appointed as the Secretary in the MSME ministry in January 2021. His posting was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The officer has served as the Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas since December 2019 and was earlier the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
