Madhya Pradesh DGP Mr. Sudhir Kumar Saxena (1987-batch IPS officer) is set to experience a proud and emotional moment as his daughter Ms. Sonakshi Saxena (2020-batch IPS officer), serving as DCP Intelligence, shall lead his farewell parade on November 30th, 2024, at Motilal Nehru Stadium.
Mr. Sudhir Kumar Saxena, born on November 15, 1964, in Gwalior, began his career journey in engineering before transitioning into civil services. He holds degrees in BE and MTech and cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 1986, joining the 1987 batch of the Indian Police Service. His IPS journey began on December 15, 1987.
During his illustrious career, Mr. Saxena held key positions across Madhya Pradesh, including Superintendent of Police (SP) in Chhindwara, Raigarh, Ratlam, and Jabalpur. He also served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2012 to 2014 and was Chief of Intelligence from 2014 to 2016. His expertise and leadership led to his appointment as Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
In 2022, Mr. Saxena was elevated to the role of Director General of Police (DGP) for Madhya Pradesh, where he has been instrumental in shaping the state’s law enforcement strategies. His remarkable journey has left an indelible mark on the state police force.
