New Delhi: The Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE), an organised Group ‘A’ cadre under the Ministry of Defence, celebrated its 76th Raising Day on September 17, 2025, at the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt. The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Army Headquarters, and other stakeholders.
Defence Secretary Highlights the Role of Engineers in National Preparedness
Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary and Chief Guest of the event, praised the IDSE cadre officers for their pivotal role in enhancing defence preparedness through the creation and maintenance of world-class infrastructure.
“IDSE officers play a critical role in nation-building and maintaining defence operational readiness. In today’s evolving security environment, it is imperative to adapt to emerging technologies and engineering practices,” said Mr. Singh.
He encouraged the engineering cadre to stay future-ready and continue embracing cutting-edge technologies, keeping pace with the modernisation of India’s armed forces and strategic assets.

Celebrating Heritage: Cultural Performances and Participation
The official program was followed by cultural events, including vibrant dance performances by artists from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR). The event was attended by senior civilian and military officials from the Ministry of Defence and Army Headquarters, symbolising the unity of engineering and armed forces personnel.
