On Monday, two senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers received significant diplomatic appointments. Arun Kumar Sahu (IFS: 1996), currently serving as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Bulgaria, has been concurrently accredited as the Ambassador of India to the Republic of North Macedonia, with residence in Sofia.

In a related development, Raj Kumar Singh (IFS: 1996), presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Guatemala. Both diplomats are expected to take up their new assignments shortly, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

These appointments reflect India’s growing diplomatic engagement with both North Macedonia and Guatemala.
