In a recent development, Alok Prem Nagar, an Indian Forest Service officer (IFoS: 1995: HP), has had his central deputation tenure as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj extended for another year. The extension was confirmed through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
According to the order, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to extend Nagar’s deputation tenure. The extension will last until February 17, 2026, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.
This extension will see Mr. Nagar continuing to oversee his responsibilities within the Ministry, contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives under the Panchayati Raj system in India.
