Mr. Nishant Verma, a 1999-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, has proceeded on central deputation and taken charge as the Joint Chief Executive Officer of CAMPA (Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) in New Delhi. He is expected to serve in this role for the next few years.

IFS Rahul to Hold Additional Responsibilities Temporarily
In the interim, IFS officer Mr. Rahul—well known for his involvement in the Corbett case—has been entrusted with Mr. Verma’s duties starting June 30. He will handle the additional charge of forest fire and disaster management along with his current responsibilities related to CCF Monitoring, Evaluation, and IT.
According to departmental sources, these responsibilities are likely to be permanently assigned to another CCF-rank officer following the upcoming Civil Services Board (CSB) meeting.
