Bhubaneswar, Odisha: The Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC), a prominent state-owned enterprise, has launched a “Train the Trainer” programme as part of its long-term commitment to institutional learning and employee development. The initiative officially commenced on June 11 and 12 at OMC’s Head Office in Bhubaneswar.
Leadership-Backed Launch Reflects Strategic Workforce Focus

Phase One Trains 37 Officials as Certified Internal Trainers
In its initial phase, the programme successfully trained 37 officials from diverse departments and regional units. These officials are now equipped to act as certified internal trainers and mentors, responsible for cascading their knowledge and skills across the wider organization.
The training sessions included modules on-
- Experiential learning
- Leadership simulations
- Communication and behavioural development
- Compliance and capacity building
- Organizational leadership
This hands-on approach aims to foster a sustainable, self-reliant learning model within OMC.
Structured Multi-Phase Rollout Planned
The “Train the Trainer” initiative will follow a three-phase implementation strategy, gradually expanding its reach to include more employees across operational zones. This approach ensures quality delivery, scalability, and long-term continuity in skill development.
Strategic Alignment with OMC’s Growth Vision
The programme is more than a learning intervention – it is a strategic workforce development move aligned with OMC’s operational and growth goals. By investing in internal trainers, OMC is building leadership from within and promoting a high-performance culture grounded in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
OMC currently operates 18 mines across Odisha, producing critical minerals such as chromite, iron ore, and bauxite, which support India’s core industries including steel, aluminium, ferro-alloys, and sponge iron.
OMC’s Commitment to Human Capital Development
This training initiative is a continuation of OMC’s efforts to strengthen its human capital and institutional capabilities. It complements other training and HR initiatives aimed at future-proofing the organisation amidst evolving industry and operational dynamics.
