New Delhi: In a high-level press briefing today, the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force jointly addressed the nation, shedding light on the ongoing situation with Pakistan and the strategic outcomes of Operation Sindoor. The military leadership emphasized India’s readiness for any future threat and revealed key findings related to Chinese involvement in Pakistan’s offensive.

Military Bases on High Alert, All Systems Operational
Air Marshal A.K. Bharti opened the briefing by affirming that “all our military bases, equipment, and systems are fully operational and ready for any kind of mission if required.” He noted that India’s response has been rooted in a robust defense mechanism designed to repel threats at any level.

India Recovers Debris of Chinese-Made Missile Used by Pakistan
In a critical development, the Indian Army announced the recovery of debris from a PL-15 missile — a Chinese-manufactured air-to-air missile — that was used during Pakistan’s assault. This confirms suspicions of deeper Chinese support to Pakistan’s military operations. The Indian defense establishment has characterized this as “evidence of foreign collusion and technological support” to terrorism and aggression in the region.

India’s Multi-Layered Defense Thwarts Aerial and Maritime Threats
Vice Admiral AN Pramod highlighted the Navy’s success in maintaining “continuous surveillance across air, surface, and sub-surface domains.” Using an advanced network of radars and sensors, the Navy was able to detect and neutralize hostile objects including drones and aircraft before they entered Indian airspace.

“No enemy aircraft was allowed within several kilometers of our land. In fact, none came within hundreds of kilometers,” said Pramod, stressing the effectiveness of India’s layered aerial defense systems.

Crushing Blow to Pakistan’s Drone Warfare
DGMO Lt. Gen. Ghai praised the Indian forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), for shooting down numerous Pakistani drones attempting to breach Indian airspace. “Their nefarious activities were thwarted. When the spirits are high, the destination also kisses your feet,” he remarked, emphasizing the morale and resolve of Indian forces.

He also took a moment to express admiration for cricketer Virat Kohli, who announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier in the day, drawing a poetic analogy between cricket and defense:
“Even if you pass through all layers, one layer of this grid will definitely catch you – just like in cricket, if Thommo doesn’t get you, Lillee surely will.”

Focus Remains on Eradicating Terrorism
Air Marshal Bharti reiterated that India’s military actions were targeted at terrorist infrastructure, not civilians. “Our fight is against terrorism and terrorists,” he asserted. “But Pakistan decided to make this fight its own. That necessitated a firm and proportionate response.”

He concluded by stating that attempts to use foreign technology, including Chinese missiles, failed due to India’s resilient defense systems.

Strategic Patience with Tactical Readiness
The Indian military leadership stressed that while they are committed to peace and de-escalation, they remain fully prepared for any provocation. With tensions cooling and diplomacy resuming, India’s multi-pronged defense strategy has proven effective — both in deterring aggression and defending its sovereign territory.

Ceasefire Holding Along the Border
Tensions that flared between India and Pakistan earlier this month appear to be easing. For the first time since Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7, no incidents of shelling or gunfire were reported overnight along the Line of Control (LoC) or international borders. The Indian Army described the past night as the “first peaceful night in Jammu and Kashmir since the beginning of the operation.”

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai is set to speak with his Pakistani counterpart, Major General Kashif Abdullah, in what will be the second round of high-level military dialogue. The previous ceasefire agreement was reached via a call initiated by Pakistan on May 10.
