New Delhi: In a significant move to bolster India’s cybersecurity preparedness, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani to launch a professional development program in cybersecurity.
The initiative aims to equip professionals from government, public sector units (PSUs), and industry with advanced knowledge and practical skills to tackle emerging digital threats. The program is set to begin on July 19, 2025, and is open to working professionals.
Responding to Evolving Digital Threats
This collaboration comes at a critical time as cybersecurity threats in India continue to grow in scale and sophistication. MeitY highlighted that the partnership with BITS-Pilani is designed to meet the rising demand for structured, high-impact cybersecurity training, and to strengthen national cyber resilience.
“This is a strategic step toward building a future-ready cybersecurity workforce and ensuring our digital infrastructure remains robust and secure,” said a senior MeitY official.
Program Highlights

The course is expected to cover threat intelligence, network security, secure software design, incident response, and policy frameworks, among other key areas.

India has witnessed a surge in cyberattacks across sectors, prompting the need for a more resilient and technically trained cybersecurity workforce. This program will support the Government of India’s vision of Digital India, by creating a pipeline of professionals who can secure digital ecosystems across both public and private domains.
