New Delhi: Reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and welfare, the Indian Navy’s Naval Welfare Cell (NWeC) has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jagruti Rehab Centre Pvt. Ltd. to offer specialized care and support for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PwIDDs) among its serving and retired personnel and their families.
The MoU was signed by Commodore V.K. Jha, Commodore (Naval Welfare), and Dr. Amar Shinde, Director of Jagruti Rehab Centre, in a formal ceremony held recently.
Comprehensive Support for PwIDDs
Under the MoU, families of naval personnel will benefit from:
- Expert, evidence-based care tailored for individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges
- A safe, structured, and empathetic environment for ongoing support and holistic well-being
- A 20% discount on In-Patient Department (IPD) treatment across 17+ Jagruti Rehab Centres nationwide
This collaboration marks a significant step toward creating inclusive ecosystems within the armed forces community, ensuring long-term care, dignity, and empowerment for individuals with special needs.
