New Delhi: The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) have formalized a landmark collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) under the ‘Vikiran Prehri’, the flagship programme of DRDO. This agreement aims to build national capacity for the medical management of radiation emergencies, strengthening India’s preparedness and response mechanisms.
Collaboration for National Preparedness
The MoA is designed to enhance synergy between the Armed Forces Medical Services and DRDO. By working together, the organisations will ensure faster, coordinated, and effective responses during radiation-related incidents. The partnership will also facilitate joint training programmes, advanced medical protocols, and the development of specialised infrastructure for managing radiation emergencies.

The agreement was signed at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi, in the presence of key dignitaries, including:

The ceremony underscored the commitment of the defence and research agencies to strengthen India’s emergency preparedness and healthcare capabilities in the field of nuclear and radiation safety.

- Building national capacity for medical management of radiation emergencies
