In a special mentorship session under the Punjab Government’s ambitious School Mentorship Program, 2015-batch IPS officer and AIG (Counter Intelligence) Dr. Ravjot Grewal interacted with students of the School of Eminence, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, offering guidance and practical insights into UPSC preparation and academic goal-setting.
Addressing students of classes XI and XII, Dr. Grewal underscored the importance of clarity and decisiveness in setting educational and career goals. “Students must first identify the field they want to pursue and work diligently toward that objective with focused attention,” she said.
Dr. Grewal lauded the Punjab Sikhiya Kranti initiative, which has not only transformed school infrastructure but also introduced innovative reforms such as deploying government officers as mentors to inspire and guide students. “The infrastructure is in place—what’s crucial now is mentoring students to realise their potential and channel their ambitions effectively,” she noted.
Encouraging students to recognise and nurture their unique talents, Dr. Grewal emphasized the value of discipline, hard work, and pride in one’s educational journey. “Every child has some hidden talent. If guided correctly and if one seizes the opportunities that come their way, success is inevitable,” she said.
Drawing from her own journey, Dr. Grewal urged the students to remain steadfast in their aspirations, choose the right path, and utilise modern tools such as digital platforms for competitive exam preparation. She also introduced students to various academic and career options available post-high school, especially for those aspiring to appear in competitive examinations like the UPSC.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains for launching the School Mentorship Program, which has brought role models like Dr. Grewal into classrooms to provide firsthand inspiration and practical advice.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and members of the School Management Committee.
