11 IPS Officers Transferred in Punjab, Ravjot Grewal Made AIG, Counter Intelligence

The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has executed a large-scale reshuffle in the police department, transferring 162 officers in a single day. Among them, 11 are officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS), reflecting a significant restructuring within the state’s law enforcement.

The transfers were carried out in two phases. The first list saw the reassignment of 97 officers, including the 11 IPS officers, while the second list covered 65 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), signaling a substantial shift in the mid-level command structure.

In key changes, Ms. Ravjot Grewal, a 2015-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Counter Intelligence, Punjab, SAS Nagar. She previously served as AIG, Technical Services, Punjab, Chandigarh. Ms. Ashwini Gotyal, a 2016-batch IPS officer and former AIG, HRD, Punjab, has been posted as AIG at the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Punjab, SAS Nagar. Ms. Vatsala Gupta, a 2016-batch IPS officer, continues as Commandant of the 27th Battalion PAP in Jalandhar and has now been given additional charge as AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana.

Among other significant transfers, Ms. Jasroop Kaur Batth, a 2020-batch IPS officer, has been moved from SP, Investigation, Jalandhar Rural, to ADCP-III, Amritsar. Mr. Aditya S. Warrier, a 2020-batch IPS officer, who was serving as ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar, has been appointed as SP, Investigation, Amritsar Rural, replacing Mr. Harinder Singh Gill.

In Patiala, Mr. Vaibhav Choudhary, a 2020-batch IPS officer and former ASP Detective, has been posted as SP, Headquarters, Patiala, replacing Ms. Harwant Kaur. Ms. Akarshi Jain, a 2020-batch IPS officer, formerly ASP SD Civil Lines, Ludhiana, has now been assigned the role of ADCP-I, Jalandhar. Meanwhile, Ms. Sirivennela, a 2021-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from ASP SD Model Town, Jalandhar, to ADCP-II, Amritsar.

Further, Mr. Jayant Puri, a 2021-batch IPS officer and former ASP of the 13th Battalion PAP, Chandigarh, has been appointed as ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar. Mr. Vineet Ahlawat, a 2021-batch IPS officer, earlier ASP SD East, Amritsar, is now posted as ADCP, Operations and Security, Jalandhar. Mr. Dilpreet Singh, a 2021-batch IPS officer, who was ASP SD Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, will now oversee the responsibilities of SP, Headquarters, Sangrur, in the rank of ASP.

This large-scale reshuffle marks a strategic move by the Punjab government to enhance policing efficiency and optimize law enforcement across the state.
