Rajsthan government Monday suspended IPS officer Himmat Abhilash Tak after a probe found he allegedly facilitated liquor smuggling by working in connivance with the mafia when he was posted as the Sirohi police chief.
Tak, the then Superintendent of Police of Sirohi, was accused of being involved in an alliance with the liquor mafia in the month of June itself. After that Tak was removed from the post of Superintendent of Police of Sirohi and sent to Police Training Center as principal in Kishangarh. Taking seriously the allegation of collusion with the liquor mafia against Tak, the government handed over the investigation of the case to the SOG and Vigilance Department of Rajasthan Police.
According to the order issued by the Personnel Department on Monday, the departmental inquiry proceedings against Tak is under consideration, so the state government has suspended IPS Tak under the All India Services Discipline and Appeal Rules, 1969.
