Mr. Raman Kumar Meena, a 2011-batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the remainder of his approved tenure, extending until February 9, 2030.

Mr. Meena has had a distinguished career in law enforcement, previously serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, before being inducted into the CBI as SP in December 2024. Recognized for his leadership and investigative skills, he was promoted to DIG in March 2025. His extensive experience and commitment to justice continue to make significant contributions to national security and law enforcement.
Meanwhile, Ms. Shilpa Dyavaiah, a 2016-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI for a tenure of five years.
Ms. Dyavaiah, originally from Karnataka, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and an MBA. Before joining the civil services, she worked as a Business Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services. Her policing career includes key postings as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Kasaragod and Kannur, where she was involved in high-profile investigations such as the Koodathayi cyanide murder case. She later served as Commandant of the Kerala Women Police Battalion and became the first woman SP of Kasaragod, playing a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the District Police Chief of Kottayam, she managed critical law-and-order situations, including the smooth conduct of assembly elections. Her appointment to the CBI reflects her strong investigative acumen and dedication to upholding justice.
Both officers bring a wealth of experience to their new roles, further strengthening the CBI’s investigative capabilities.
