Mr. Swapan Sharma, a 2009-batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana. He takes over from Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Sharma was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Ferozepur Range. Known for his strong leadership and expertise in law enforcement, he has held several key positions in the Punjab Police, focusing on crime control and maintaining public order.
As the new Commissioner of Ludhiana, one of Punjab’s most significant urban centers, Mr. Sharma is expected to play a crucial role in tackling crime, ensuring public safety, and strengthening law and order in the industrial city.
