New Delhi: In a significant development, 1994 batch IRSSE (Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers) officer Sunil Kumar Verma, Joint Secretary (A) at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre, the Ministry of Railways. As a result of this move, he has been relieved from his position as the Government Nominee Director at ITI Ltd (Indian Telephone Industries Limited).
The order for Verma’s repatriation was issued by the Government of India through the Ministry of Communications and was received by ITI Ltd on May 21, 2025. The order specifies that Verma ceased to hold his position as a Government Nominee Director at ITI Ltd from the afternoon of May 19, 2025.

Sunil Kumar Verma is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers. A Gold Medalist in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering from MMMEC, Gorakhpur, UP, he later pursued his Master’s degree (M.E.) from IIT Roorkee (formerly University of Roorkee).
With over 27 years of experience in administration, management, and technical fields, Verma has had an extensive career in both the Indian Railways and the Department of Telecommunications.
