Pratima Singh, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) from the 2009 batch, has been chosen to serve as Director in the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This decision was made official on Wednesday through an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
Selected under the Central Staffing Scheme, Singh’s appointment is set for a tenure of five years from the date she assumes office or until further directives are issued, whichever occurs first.
Having been recommended for the Central deputation by the Department of Revenue, Singh is poised to transition into her new role promptly. The order explicitly states, “She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.”
This move underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging expertise from various sectors for the advancement of industry and trade promotion efforts. Singh’s appointment is anticipated to bring fresh perspectives and contribute to the department’s objectives in fostering economic growth and development.
