New Delhi: Vijender Singh, a 1996 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), has taken charge as the Executive Director (Works) at IRCON International Limited, the public sector construction giant under the Ministry of Railways. His appointment is on a deputation basis, effective from August 11, 2025, and he will be based at IRCON’s Corporate Office in New Delhi.
Veteran of Major Railway Infrastructure Projects
Mr. Singh brings with him nearly three decades of experience in railway infrastructure, having played pivotal roles in several critical projects. He has worked on:
- Jammu–Udhampur New Rail Link Project
- Station Redevelopment Projects
Numerous Road over Bridges (RoBs), Road under Bridges (RUBs), and major bridges
His technical expertise and hands-on experience in civil engineering and project execution are expected to significantly contribute to IRCON’s expanding portfolio of domestic and international infrastructure projects.
Leadership in Indian Railways’ Largest Division
Prior to his deputation to IRCON, Mr. Singh served as Senior Divisional Engineer and later as Senior Divisional Engineer/Coordination in the Delhi Division—one of the busiest and most complex divisions under Indian Railways. His tenure was marked by high-volume project execution and effective coordination across multiple engineering zones.
Looking Ahead at IRCON
At IRCON, Mr. Singh is expected to play a key leadership role in overseeing works and infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of railway construction, highways, metro systems, and bridge engineering.
IRCON is currently involved in several high-value domestic and international projects, and Mr. Singh’s appointment is seen as part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen technical leadership at the top level.
