Mr. Samir Kumar, a 1999-batch IRTS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. His appointment, at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, will be for a tenure of five years.
Mr. Kumar has had a distinguished career in railway operations and commercial management. He previously served as Chief Commercial Manager for the Government of India, where he demonstrated expertise in policy implementation and government administration.
With extensive experience in the railway sector and a strong commitment to public service, Mr. Kumar is well-positioned to contribute effectively to NHRC’s mission of safeguarding and promoting human rights in the country.
