New Delhi: The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully concluded Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, held from October 27 to November 2, 2025. The observance carried the national theme — “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी / Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” — emphasizing the joint responsibility of individuals and institutions in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity across the organization and society.
Leadership Reaffirms ITDC’s Ethical Vision
Marking the occasion, Mugdha Sinha (IAS: 1999: RJ), Managing Director, ITDC, highlighted the significance of the observance in strengthening a culture of ethical conduct.
“Observing Vigilance Awareness Week gives ITDC an opportunity to reflect, engage and collectively reaffirm our commitment to transparency and accountability. The tourism and hospitality industry — like any other — rests on the foundation of ethical conduct,” she said.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), ITDC, also reiterated the Corporation’s ongoing efforts to build a more vigilant ecosystem.
“In line with Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) directives, ITDC continues to strengthen preventive vigilance measures across its offices and hotels, including timely disposal of complaints, enhanced asset management systems, and digital vigilance initiatives,” Sharma stated.

Integrity Pledge and Awareness Activities Across Divisions
The observance began with ITDC employees taking the Integrity Pledge across all Corporate Offices, Hotels, Catering Units, Regional Offices, Ashok Travels & Tours, the Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIHTM), and other divisions.
To engage employees and students, ITDC organized a series of interactive and educational activities, including:
- Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions
 - Debates and Quizzes on Vigilance and Ethics
 - Capacity-Building Workshops conducted by external experts on preventive vigilance

These initiatives aimed to encourage participants to envision a corruption-free, transparent, and vigilant India.
Nukkad Natak and Walkathon Promote Community Awareness
In a bid to take the message of vigilance beyond the workplace, ITDC also hosted community outreach events. A Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by AIHTM students creatively depicted real-life scenarios underscoring the importance of integrity in everyday life.
Additionally, a Walkathon was organized and flagged off by CVO Sunil Kumar Sharma, symbolizing ITDC’s collective commitment to transparency and ethical governance. The walk witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, students, and members of the public.
Commitment to Vigilance and Good Governance
By observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, ITDC once again reaffirmed its institutional commitment to upholding integrity, ensuring transparency, and fostering a culture of ethical accountability within the tourism and hospitality sector. The Corporation emphasized that vigilance is not just a responsibility but a shared value guiding all aspects of governance and service delivery.
