Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday personally handed over appointment letters to over 1,900 candidates who qualified the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The Chief Minister described the appointments as a New Year gift from the government, marking a major step in the state’s ongoing efforts to provide employment opportunities to youth.
CM Soren Highlights Government Efforts
Addressing the newly appointed candidates during the public event, CM Soren emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness and transparency in recruitment processes. He stated,
“We always had this view that there should be no mistake from the government’s side. You won’t believe the amount of pressure our officials were under before your induction. The same was the case with our opponents too.”
He noted that the appointments were the result of sustained legal and administrative efforts, overcoming multiple challenges over the years to ensure deserving candidates finally received their due recognition.

Long-Awaited Appointments for Candidates
Many candidates had personally approached the Chief Minister over the years seeking clarity on their appointments. CM Soren remarked,
“Here, the wait is over. The government is giving this present on the occasion of the New Year.”
Reflecting on his first term in office, Soren said that when his government came to power in 2019, it faced several obstacles but remained focused on inclusive development and employment generation. As a result, his government was re-elected in 2024, continuing efforts to create jobs and opportunities for youth across the state.
Contribution to Jharkhand’s Growth
CM Soren highlighted the diverse educational backgrounds of the selected candidates, which include graduates in engineering and other streams, noting that their induction would significantly contribute to Jharkhand’s overall growth and development.
Opposition Attempts to Stall Recruitment
The Chief Minister also criticized the opposition for allegedly attempting to stall the recruitment process. He said,
“You struggled a lot and saw the conspiracy of our opponents. I saw how far they went to stop the results of this exam.”
He warned that such actions would not be tolerated in the future, adding,
“But next time they will go to jail if they do conspire like this.”
Government’s Commitment to Employment
CM Soren asserted that, unlike previous regimes, his government has consistently worked to provide employment opportunities across all sections of society. The appointment of these 1,900 candidates reflects the state government’s commitment to merit-based recruitment, transparency, and youth empowerment.
This event marks a significant milestone for Jharkhand, providing fresh employment opportunities and reinforcing the government’s focus on inclusive growth and accountability in public service.
