Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren returned to Ranchi on Tuesday after a 12-day foreign visit to Davos, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. He was warmly welcomed at Birsa Munda Airport by his wife Kalpana Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, and senior officials.
During his tour, CM Soren participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, marking the first-ever global presence of Jharkhand on such an international platform. He also attended various events in London, including India’s Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026.
Jharkhand Showcased on Global Stage
Speaking after his return, CM Soren said the visit allowed him to present Jharkhand’s potential and opportunities to the world, attracting interest for future investments.
- He emphasized that the experiences gained at Davos will help enhance governance and development in Jharkhand.
- Special focus will be given to water, forests, land, education, and youth development.
- CM Soren highlighted that the global exposure has provided new ideas for long-term state development and opportunities for the next generation.

On returning, CM Soren shared a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“After presenting Jharkhand’s youth, heritage, and immense potential at the World Economic Forum, Davos, and UK, I have returned to my people in Ranchi. The world has seen the extraordinary potential of young Jharkhand. Now, together, we will take this young state to new heights.”
He also expressed gratitude for learning from the lives and philosophies of eminent personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, stating that their vision strengthens his commitment to Jharkhand and India.
Focus on Investment and Development
CM Soren assured that the government will leverage new investment opportunities and implement strategies to boost economic growth and social development in Jharkhand. He expressed confidence that the visit would open new avenues for progress and better governance in the state.
