The Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand has taken a significant step to provide greater relief to citizens suffering from serious illnesses. The Chief Minister’s Serious Illness Treatment Scheme will now be included under the Chief Minister Abua Health Security Scheme, offering beneficiaries free treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh, similar to other Abua scheme beneficiaries. This move is expected to significantly ease the financial burden on families dealing with critical health conditions.
Financial Support for Natural Farming
In another welfare initiative, farmer families practicing completely natural farming using indigenous cows will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1,700 per month (Rs. 10,000 per year) to cover the cost of rearing one indigenous cow. This step promotes sustainable agriculture while supporting rural livelihoods.
Enhanced Incentives for Sahyas
The government has also increased incentives for Sahyas (community facilitators) assisting with e-KYC processes. Previously, Sahyas received Rs. 5 per card from the Centre, which was raised to Rs. 10. The state will now contribute the additional Rs. 5, and a formal proposal for this enhancement will soon be submitted to the cabinet.
Monthly Meetings to Empanel Hospitals
To ensure transparent and efficient implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Rajyakarmi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, the Additional Chief Secretary of Jharkhand has directed monthly meetings for hospital empanelment. The focus will be on selecting better hospitals to ensure accessible, high-quality, and transparent health services for the citizens of the state.
