In a significant step towards inclusive urban development, Jharkhand Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren announced a large-scale appointment drive under the Urban Development Department. The announcement was made at a program jointly organized by the Urban Development Department and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The new appointments cover critical posts including pipeline engineers, junior engineers, law assistants, and officials under the Central Food Security scheme.
These appointments aim to enhance efficiency in urban planning and service delivery across the state, ensuring that developmental initiatives are implemented swiftly and systematically.
CM Congratulates New Appointees, Emphasizes Development Responsibility
Mr. Hemant Soren congratulated the selected candidates and praised their perseverance and dedication. He urged the newly appointed officials to serve with integrity and a strong sense of duty.
He added, “These young professionals now bear the responsibility of contributing actively to the progress of both cities and rural areas. Your work will lay the foundation for a stronger and more developed Jharkhand.”
Holistic Growth: “Jharkhand Must Develop from Every Corner”
Reiterating the government’s commitment to balanced growth, Mr. Soren stated that Jharkhand’s development must extend to every corner of the state. While acknowledging the state’s rich mineral resources, he emphasized that Jharkhand’s identity is also defined by its natural beauty, forests, and cultural heritage.
“We want the world to see not only our mineral wealth but also our scenic landscapes and diverse culture. The future of Jharkhand lies in sustainable development,” he said.
Boosting Tourism for Economic Growth
The Chief Minister outlined the government’s vision to turn Jharkhand into a prime tourism destination. He noted that just as people travel to other states or countries for leisure, Jharkhand should also attract both domestic and international tourists.
To achieve this, infrastructure supporting tourism is being strengthened. “A robust tourism sector will not only enhance the state’s visibility but also generate jobs and boost the economy,” he said.
Planned Urban Development: The Key to Sustainability
Mr. Soren emphasized the importance of maintaining clean and organized urban spaces. He highlighted that growing urban populations, driven by migration for employment, necessitate the planned expansion and management of cities.
“Unplanned urban growth, such as the development of slums, can hinder the overall development process. That is why these appointments in the Urban Development Department are crucial. The newly appointed officers will ensure proper planning, infrastructure, and service delivery in urban areas,” he added.
Bridging the Urban-Rural Divide
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the new officers will serve as a bridge between city and village development. By involving youth in governance and planning, the government aims to create a balanced and equitable development model.
These strategic appointments reflect the administration’s broader vision for a stronger, cleaner, and more self-reliant Jharkhand.
