The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria with immediate effect as an inquiry begins into allegations of financial irregularities involving police personnel of the JKAP-4 Security Battalion.
Allegations of Fund Misuse
According to an order issued by the Home Department, Khajuria is facing allegations related to the misappropriation of General Provident (GP) funds and income tax deductions belonging to personnel of the JKAP-4 Security Battalion.
At the time of the alleged incident, Khajuria was serving as the commandant of the JKAP-4 Security Battalion. He is currently posted as commandant of the 1st Border Battalion in Jammu.
Official Order Issued
The suspension order was issued by the principal secretary to the Jammu and Kashmir Government, Home Department.
The order stated that the suspension will remain in effect while the inquiry is underway.
Attached to Police Headquarters
During the suspension period, Khajuria has been attached to the Police Headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir until further instructions are issued by the government.
