State-run National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited has appointed K. Venkateswarlu, General Manager (Finance), as the Whole-Time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Person (KMP) of the company. His tenure will continue until the appointment of a new Whole-Time Director (Finance) or until his superannuation on June 30, 2025—whichever is earlier.

An associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mr. Venkateswarlu is a seasoned finance professional with over 35 years of experience across various domains such as corporate finance, taxation, financial reporting, internal financial controls, and treasury operations. His expertise spans the metal and mining sector as well as the insurance industry, making him a valuable asset in NMDC’s strategic financial operations.
NMDC Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel, is India’s largest producer and exporter of iron ore, operating fully mechanized mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. Apart from iron ore, NMDC is also involved in the exploration of other minerals such as rock phosphate, gypsum, diamond, coal, and more. It operates the country’s only mechanized diamond mine located in Panna, Madhya Pradesh.
Mr. Venkateswarlu’s appointment comes at a crucial juncture as NMDC continues to expand its mineral exploration activities and strengthen its financial and operational frameworks.
