In a major boost to digital infrastructure supporting urban transport, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has teamed up with ACES India to deliver continuous voice and data connectivity throughout the underground sections of the Kanpur Metro. This marks the first implementation of its kind in Uttar Pradesh, setting a new precedent for metro communication systems in the state.
As part of the collaboration, ACES India has deployed a sophisticated In-Building Solution (IBS) to expand BSNL’s mobile network across all subterranean metro stations and tunnels. This ensures that commuters can enjoy full mobile signal strength and uninterrupted internet access while travelling underground.
The newly implemented system was showcased during a live demo, where passengers experienced seamless mobile connectivity across the entire underground network—demonstrating the effectiveness of the solution and the shared commitment of both organisations to enhance passenger convenience through modern technology.
BSNL General Manager Prabhansh Yadav expressed pride in the accomplishment, stating that the initiative represents a milestone in delivering reliable and high-quality network services to metro commuters. He emphasised that the project supports India’s vision for smart infrastructure and improved urban mobility.
ACES India’s Managing Director, Mohammed N. Mazher, echoed this enthusiasm, noting that the collaboration is a testament to the company’s dedication to strengthening India’s telecom ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of resilient infrastructure that enables passengers to stay connected even in challenging environments like underground transit systems.
