In a partial modification of its previous order, the Kerala government has carried out a reshuffle among senior IPS officers, assigning several of them additional responsibilities. The updated postings are aimed at optimizing leadership across key departments and ensuring continuity in critical roles.
Mr. M.R. Ajithkumar (1995-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), had recently been appointed as the Excise Commissioner. He will now continue to hold additional charge as ADGP, Armed Police Battalions.
Mr. Balram Kumar Upadhyaya (1997-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), ADGP, who was earlier appointed as Director, Kerala Police Academy (KEPA), will continue to serve as Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services.
Mr. Mahipal Yadav (1997-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), ADGP, who had been named ADGP, Crimes, will also continue as Excise Commissioner.
Mr. K. Sethu Raman (2004-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), IGP, who was previously appointed IGP and Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services, will now continue as IGP and Director, KEPA.
Mr. P. Prakash (2004-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), who served as IGP, Coastal Police, has now been posted as Inspector General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau.
Mr. A. Akbar (2005-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), who held the post of IGP, Internal Security, has been transferred to the post of IGP, Coastal Police.
Mr. S. Sreejith (1996-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), currently ADGP, Headquarters, has been assigned full additional charge of ADGP, Cyber Operations.
Mr. H. Venkatesh (1998-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), ADGP, Law & Order, has been given full additional charge as ADGP, Crimes.
Mr. G. Sparjan Kumar (2002-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer), currently serving as IGP, Crimes I (Thiruvananthapuram), has been entrusted with full additional charges of IGP, Crimes II (Ernakulam) and IGP, Crimes III (Kozhikode).
This reshuffle reflects the government’s intent to streamline operations while ensuring experienced leadership is retained in key areas.
