Thiruvananthapuram: IAS officer Aishvarya Singh (2008 batch) has been appointed as the Special Roll Observer to oversee the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activities in Kerala. Her appointment comes ahead of the publication of the draft electoral rolls, scheduled for December 23, 2025.
Review of SIR Activities in Thiruvananthapuram
On December 20, 2025, Ms. Singh conducted a detailed review meeting of SIR activities in Thiruvananthapuram district, ensuring that the enumeration process concluded smoothly and accurately.
During her visit, she also participated in a meeting with political party representatives, convened by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Kerala, Rathan U. Kelkar, to discuss the SIR process and address concerns regarding electoral roll accuracy and inclusiveness.
District Visits to Ensure Electoral Accuracy
Ms. Singh will continue her review tour across Kerala, visiting other districts to oversee SIR progress.

During these visits, she will –
- Interact with district election machinery
- Meet political party representatives
- Assess measures to ensure inclusiveness and accuracy of electoral rolls
Upcoming Publication of Draft Rolls
The enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision concluded on December 18, 2025, and the draft electoral rolls will be published on December 23, 2025. The Special Roll Observer’s role is critical in ensuring a transparent, accurate, and participatory electoral process in the state.
